Jan Valošek received his PhD in Neurosciences from Palacký University Olomouc. During his doctoral work, he focused on quantitative spinal cord and brain MRI. He spent five months in Vienna at the High Field MR Centre on a research internship. After completing his PhD, Jan moved to Canada to conduct a postdoctoral fellowship at Polytechnique Montreal and Mila – Quebec AI Institute in the team of Prof. Julien Cohen-Adad. He developed automated deep learning–based tools for the analysis of MRI images in spinal cord injury. As a member of the Spinal Cord Toolbox team, he maintains and develops free and open-source software dedicated to the processing and analysis of spinal cord MRI data.
