Sharifi, Kiomars

Kiomars earned an M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology. His thesis investigated how reward associations improve visual search efficiency by driving neural plasticity in the ventrolateral prefrontal cortex.

 

He is currently working under Prof. Patrick Freund, focusing on understanding spinal-brain interactions following cervical spinal cord injuries and their effects on recovery and neuropathic pain. Additionally, he is developing advanced deep-learning techniques to enhance the quality and reliability of spinal cord fMRI data to translate neuroimaging advancements into clinical applications.
