Büeler, Silvan

Silvan Büeler received his Master's degree in Health Sciences and Technology, with a major in Neuroscience, at ETH Zurich in 2019. During his master thesis at the Rehabilitation Center for Children and Adolescents of the University Children's Hospital Zurich, he conducted an fNIRS study under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Huub van Hedel and Dr. Rob Labruyère. Differences in cortical activation between a rhythmic and discrete wrist movement task were investigated in a robotic-based exergame setting.

In March 2020, Silvan started his PhD in the Neuro-Urology group of the Spinal Cord Injury Center of Balgrist University Hospital under the supervision of Dr. Martina Liechti and Dr. Gergely David. He will be using neuroimaging techniques (structural, diffusion, and functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)) and neurophysiological assessments to investigate neural correlates of lower urinary tract control. Specifically, he will work on the development and refinement of neuroimaging protocols and useful biomarkers.
