His research focuses on autonomic dysfunctions in individuals with underlying neurological disorders with emphasis on cardiovascular, lower urinary tract, bowel and sexual function. He has ongoing national (Prof. Michèle Hubli, Prof. Thomas M. Kessler, PD Dr. Anke Scheel-Sailer, PD Dr. Dr. Björn Zörner) and international collaborations (Prof. Andrei Krassioukov and Prof. Tania Lam, Vancouver, Canada and Prof. Tom Nightingale, Birmingham, UK). He is the current chairmen of the American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) Autonomic Standards Committee.
