Curriculum Vitae

Michèle Hubli completed her PhD in Human Movement Sciences at the Spinal Cord Injury Center at Balgrist University Hospital and ETH Zurich, Switzerland in 2011. She focused on the plasticity of human spinal locomotor circuitry by using several neurophysiological techniques in individuals with spinal cord injury and stroke. During her subsequent postdoctoral fellowship at Balgrist University Hospital she focused on transcutaneous spinal direct current stimulation as a neuromodulatory tool to improve locomotor capacity. In 2012, Michèle moved to Vancouver and joined the International Collaboration on Repair Discoveries (ICORD) at University of British Columbia, Canada. During her time as postdoctoral fellow in Vancouver she was involved in several projects regarding autonomic nervous system function, e.g., cardiovascular function, autonomic dysreflexia and sympathetic skin responses.  After two postdoctoral fellowships Michèle gathered some business experience in the Medtech field working as a Medical Advisor / Product Manager at Hocoma AG, Switzerland. In June 2016, she became the deputy head of research at the Spinal Cord Injury Center at Balgrist University Hospital. Her research interest include sensory assessments and neuromodulatory approaches to improve sensory dysfunctions after central nervous system lesions.
